National programme to enhance efficiency of construction sector in Oman launched

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion today launched the National Programme for Enhancing the Efficiency of the Construction Sector, a strategic initiative aimed at developing the capabilities of professionals in the sector, raising execution quality, and strengthening professional practices in accordance with the highest approved standards.

The programme focuses on hands-on, practical training through specialised educational content that addresses real-world challenges, contributing to the development of technical and administrative skills among workers—positively impacting project management and the quality of project outputs.

The programme is being delivered through in-person sessions in several wilayats across the governorates, including Muscat, Nizwa, and Sohar, in addition to offering remote participation options. This approach seeks to broaden access and provide opportunities for various categories of construction sector professionals and stakeholders across different governorates.

Organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in collaboration with the "E-Binaa" platform, the programme sees participation from a number of companies and suppliers specialised in the construction sector. These entities contribute by transferring practical expertise and showcasing best practices in construction materials and execution quality.

The programme aims to empower national competencies, raise the level of professionalism within the construction sector, improve project quality, reduce risks and implementation challenges, as well as support the sector's sustainability and enhance its contribution to economic development.
