Two arrested for counterfeiting and circulating Omani Rial in South Al Batinah

Muscat : The South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command has successfully dismantled a localised counterfeiting operation in the Wilayat of Al Musannah.

Authorities confirmed the arrest of an Asian expatriate accused of forging Omani Rial banknotes and a second individual involved in circulating the fake tender through various commercial outlets.

Royal Oman Police (ROP), said :"The South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested an Asian expatriate for counterfeiting local currency, exploiting his work in a shop in Al Musannah, and arrested a person for promoting those counterfeit currencies through a number of shops. Legal procedures are being completed against them."
