LULU’S ‘CONVOY OF GOODNESS’ sets out to spread smiles during RAMADAN

MUSCAT: Lulu Oman has launched an extensive drive to distribute ‘Ramadan Kits’ to deserving families across Oman, in a bid to reinforce social responsibility and reflect the spirit of sharing and caring in its true sense during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The ‘Convoy of Goodness’ campaign is part of Lulu’s initiatives to engage in acts of charity and community service during Ramadan.

The Convoy of Goodness travelled across major governorates in Oman, starting from Khasab all the way to Salalah, where volunteers worked diligently to distribute Ramadan essentials to around 1,400 families. The kits contained food provisions and groceries needed for a whole month for an entire family during Ramadan. 

The Ramadan essentials were distributed by the charity teams allotted for respective areas. In Salalah, the initiative was carried out by Salalah Charity team and Omani Women’s Association and in Boushar, the kits were distributed by the Nidaa team to name a few.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Shabeer K.A., Director – Oman, said, “As an organization with strong CSR policies, giving back to the community has always been our priority. We believe in creating meaningful and lasting impacts in the lives of people by being part of various social initiatives. Ramadan provides the perfect opportunity for us to promote a culture of giving and to create a tangible difference in the lives of people around,” he added.

Through this campaign, Lulu aims to a foster the spirit of unity and relationship with the community as well as contribute to instilling the concept of sharing and caring during Ramadan.

As part of its ongoing CSR commitment in the Sultanate, Lulu’s Convoy of Goodness initiative reaffirms the Group’s dedication to supporting families in need and making a meaningful difference across communities in Oman.
