Foreign Minister holds two meetings with ambassadors to Oman

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held two separate meetings this evening with Ambassadors to the Sultanate of Oman.

The first meeting was with Ambassadors to Oman of European countries that are not members of the European Union, along with the Ambassadors to Oman of the United States, Brazil and Türkiye.

The second meeting was with Ambassadors to Oman of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, along with the Ambassadors to Oman of Iraq, Jordan and Egypt.

The meetings reviewed developments related to the Israeli and American war against Iran and its harmful repercussions on the region and the wider world.

Minister meets a number of ambassadors of sisterly and friendly countries

During the meetings, Sayyid Badr reiterated the need to give the highest priority to continuing and intensifying political and diplomatic pressure to stop the war, contain its repercussions and address its challenges to security, stability and the safety of peoples.

He added that the current situation calls for broad regional and international action in this regard and that ending the war should be considered a supreme national and regional interest for all.

The Ambassadors expressed their appreciation for Oman’s efforts, including its mediation role and its ongoing humanitarian effort to facilitate transit and travel for citizens of various countries through the territory and airports of Oman.

The meetings were attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhinai, the Ministry’s Ambassador-at-large; Sheikh Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Ministry’s Department for the GCC and Region; Ambassador Munther Almandhari, Head of the Europe Department; Ambassador Sheikh Faisal Almarhoon, Head of the Arab Department; and Ambassador Dr Hanan Alshihhiya, Head of the Americas Department.
