
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman recorded a 14.6 percent increase in total electricity production by the end of January 2026, reaching 3,256.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) compared to 2,841.5 GWh during the same period in 2025.
Preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that net electricity production in Oman—which includes purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and the Rural Areas Electricity Company (Tanweer) across various areas—rose by 13.9 percent to reach 3,132.6 GWh by January 2026, compared to 2,749.2 GWh at the end of January 2025.
