Muscat: A fire broke out in a house in Hamriyah area in Ruwi on Monday, but no death or casualties were reported.
The fire broke out in wood items and electronic devices stored in one of the houses inhabited by expats in Hamriyah.
“The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) received a fire report on Monday morning and PACDA personnel from Darsait were dispatched for the spot, followed by another batch from the Amerat PACDA,” said PACDA in a press release.
“The second batch was sent due to the location of the fire and possibilities of the fire spreading to the surrounding areas,” the press release added.
The fire resulted in the loss of property as PACDA forces managed to extinguish it before it spread to the surrounding areas. PACDA has called on the public to abide by safety measures and avoid using homes for storing inflammable items.
