Indian Social Club Oman hosts farewell reception for G. V. Srinivas

Muscat: The Indian Social Club Oman (ISC Oman) hosted a warm and memorable farewell reception in honour of His Excellency Shri G. V. Srinivas, celebrating his distinguished tenure and invaluable contribution to strengthening India–Oman relations and deepening community engagement.

The evening commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Suhail Khan, Chairman, Indian Social Club Oman, who reflected on His Excellency’s impactful tenure and leadership. In his remarks, Mr. Khan highlighted the significant reforms introduced at the Embassy, the exemplary handling and coordination during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Oman, the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and the Ambassador’s exceptional ability to build meaningful people-to-people connections. He also spoke about His Excellency’s humility, accessibility, and his lasting impact on the Indian community in Oman.

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of the design concept for the ISC Amerat Project, delivered by General Secretary Mr. Shakeel K.M. along with project consultant Mr. Tufail Ahmed, providing attendees with an overview of the vision and future plans for the landmark community initiative.

This was followed by a presentation on the marketing and sponsorship deck for the Amerat Project by Mr. Govind Negi and Mr. Manoj Ranade, outlining the roadmap and opportunities to support the project.

Adding a cultural touch to the evening, soulful performances by Shamshad and Jaikumar entertained the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Malhotra, Convenor of the Hindi Wing, shared his appreciation for His Excellency’s contribution in fostering stronger community bonds and engagement during his tenure.

Addressing the audience, His Excellency Shri G. V. Srinivas reflected on his journey and experiences in Oman, sharing memorable moments from his tenure and expressing gratitude to the Indian community for their warmth and support.

In a special and emotional moment of the evening, His Excellency rendered the community song “Chalo Chalein Hum”, creating a memorable and heartfelt conclusion to the celebration.

As a mark of appreciation and respect, His Excellency was felicitated by the ISC Management Committee, all the linguistic wings, and various ISC groups, recognising his remarkable service, leadership, and enduring contribution to the community during his tenure in Oman.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, dignitaries, community leaders, and members representing all linguistic wings and groups of the Indian Social Club, making it a fitting tribute to a respected diplomat whose tenure leaves behind a lasting legacy.
