Muscat: According to KUNA, Kuwait International Airport's Terminal One was struck by hostile Iranian missiles and drones late last night, causing injuries to a number of people and damaging a variety of airport facilities. Ministry of Defense spokesman Saud Al-Atwan confirmed the aggression in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the injured have received necessary medical care and that the armed forces are continuously monitoring the situation in coordination with relevant authorities.
Flights suspended
In response to the strike, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) activated its emergency plan and suspended all air traffic, transferring flights to alternative and nearby airports until further notice. PACA spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi stated that authorities are handling the incident according to established protocols to guarantee the safety of passengers and workers while securing the airport grounds. Security and technical plans are currently underway to prepare for the eventual resumption of operations, with technical teams actively assessing the infrastructure damage before starting repairs.
