Islamabad: At least 14 children were killed on Tuesday, and others were injured, after the roof of an educational center under construction collapsed in the city of Lahore, eastern Pakistan.
A Pakistani police official said eight other children were also injured and are receiving treatment in hospital, adding that the owner of the educational center and another person have been arrested.
Pakistan frequently experiences building collapses, particularly due to the use of substandard building materials and failure to adhere to safety standards.
In July 2025, 27 people were killed and 10 others were injured when a five-story building collapsed in Karachi, southern Pakistan.
