Nine suspects arrested for social media entrapment and extortion in Al Dhahirah

Muscat: The Al Dhahirah Governorate Police Command has arrested nine individuals who lured a citizen through a social media platform before assaulting and robbing him. 

After trapping the victim, the suspects beat him and stole electronic devices from his vehicle.

They then attempted to blackmail the citizen, forcing him to pay various sums of money in exchange for the return of his stolen property. 

Legal procedures against the individuals are being completed.
