Ibra: The branch of the SMEs Development Authority (Riyada) in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate on Tuesday organised an event codenamed “Riyada Deal”, with the participation of emerging companies (startups) representing various economic and commercial sectors.
The initiative aimed to provide a direct platform to enable entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers to showcase their projects to potential investors and partners. It also aims to enhance the participants’ persuasion skills and improve their readiness to communicate with decision-makers in order to open up new vistas for funding.
The event was in pursuance of Riyada’s strategy to consolidate the system of entrepreneurship across different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, linking startups with funding opportunities and assessing the readiness of projects for investment. The strategy contributes to converting young people’s ideas into productive projects that support economic diversification and provide employment opportunities.
The event explored the success story of a startup that received investment. It also included presentations by seven startups wishing to obtain investment support and expand the range of their businesses.
The event was attended by specialists and stakeholders from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
