Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is continuing construction on five key bridges along the Sohar-Al Buraimi road, spanning the North Al Batinah and Al Buraimi Governorates. The vital artery serves as one of the primary transit routes connecting Al Buraimi Governorate to the rest of the Sultanate of Oman.
The infrastructure project has reached 24 percent completion, representing a total investment exceeding OMR 6 million.
Designed to replace damaged bridges originally constructed over 50 years ago, the new structures follow a thorough structural assessment carried out on the existing infrastructure. Once completed, the project will significantly enhance overall road safety, modernize the regional transport network, and ensure long-term efficiency across Oman's logistics system.
