OOC Organizes Promising Athletes Forum in Dhofar Governorate

Muscat: Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), represented by Oman Athletes Commission, in cooperation with Oman School Sports Federation, organized the Promising Athletes Forum in Dhofar Governorate over two days, with the participation of a number of promising athletes. The forum was held as part of the Committee’s efforts to promote awareness of the Olympic Movement and introduce athletes to the values and principles underpinning Olympic sport.

The forum addressed a number of key topics related to the journey of promising athletes, including athlete safeguarding, Olympic values and ethics, and the concept of building the champions of the future. It also focused on developing the skills for success that athletes need both on and off the field, as well as enhancing their ability to navigate the different stages of their sporting careers.

The programme also featured inspiring experiences through meetings with a number of athletes, who shared their journeys and experiences, including the challenges, milestones and lessons that can contribute to shaping the sporting paths of promising athletes.

The forum concluded with an open discussion with the athletes, providing them with an opportunity to raise questions and share their views on the various topics covered during the programme, while exchanging ideas and experiences in an interactive environment.

The forum was delivered by Khalifa Hamad Al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Athletes Commission; Asaad Mubarak Al Hasani, Vice Chairman of the Commission; and Commission members Nasser Hamdan Al Riyami and Mohammed Naseeb Al Habsi.
