
Muscat: Reviewing the survey's landmark findings, Halima bint Yousef Al Wahaibiya, Director of the Population and Labor Force Statistics Department, presented data comparing new 2025 AI-synthesised figures against the 2018 baseline.
The results revealed that the average monthly income for an Omani family rose to OMR1,839.3 in 2025, marking an 18.5 percent increase from OMR1,552.6 in 2018.
Meanwhile, the average monthly income for an expatriate family grew by 7.3 percent to reach OMR717.2, compared to OMR668.6 in the baseline year.
Overall, the combined average monthly income for all families in the Sultanate climbed 18.7 percent to OMR1,392.8, up from OMR1,173.7 previously.
The report also detailed shifting consumer habits, showing that the average total monthly expenditure for an Omani family reached OMR1,058.8 in 2025, a 13.7 percent increase from the OMR931.4 recorded in 2018.
For expatriate families, monthly spending rose 11 percent to OMR402, compared to OMR362 in the baseline year.
Across all demographics, the overall average monthly family expenditure grew by 15.9 percent to reach OMR798, up from OMR687.5. Ultimately, the data highlights a positive economic trajectory for citizens, as the 18.5 percent surge in Omani household income comfortably outpaced the 13.7 percent increase in living expenditures over the same period.
