LONDON: Manchester United coach Michael Carrick is in danger of losing his job after his side suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
Carrick went into the game under pressure following a 4-1 Champions League defeat at Como and reports of public criticism from Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder was left out of Carrick's starting lineup on Sunday as Bournemouth claimed a comfortable victory. Rayan and Marcus Tavernier struck in the first half before Evanilson added a third in the 71st minute.
Elsewhere, Liverpool ended Brighton's winning streak in the league with a 2-0 victory at Anfield. The opening goal came in the 17th minute when a Pascual Gross own goal followed incisive work from Florian Wirtz. Alexander Isak doubled the lead four minutes later.
Crystal Palace coach Pierre Sage could also come under pressure after Palace fell 2-0 at home to Newcastle United. Will Osula and Harvey Barnes scored second-half goals to hand the visitors all three points.
Hull City and Brentford drew 1-1. Oli McBurnie converted a first-half penalty to put Hull ahead before Dango Ouattara equalized for Brentford in the 63rd minute.
Sunderland and Leeds United played out a goalless draw in a tight contest, leaving Sunderland bottom of the table on five points.
