Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex to be opened in Salalah

Salalah: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar will open today the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah to coincide with the country’s 46th Glorious National Day celebrations.
The complex, which was established on royal orders, includes 28 cultural, sports and entertainment facilities on a total area of (237,368 square metres) to contribute to raising the cultural and intellectual level of the Omani man through its various quality activities, programmes and events.
The complex consists of a center for cultural and artistic activities, the centre for physical and recreational activities and several facilities, including a public library, art and cultural exhibition halls, computer laboratories and a lecture hall that can accommodate 130 people, training and activities halls, multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 1,500 people, swimming pools, gyms and in-door sport halls, out-door playgrounds for various individual and team sports.
The designers of the complex, which is located in Salalah, affiliated to Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court, have taken into account the needs of the persons with disabilities.
