Muscat: Some places in Oman are likely to experience rainfall next week as a depression is moving towards the coast of Oman, an official of the Oman Meteorology Department said.
“Next week, there are chances that some parts of Oman will see rain. But there are no chances of any “historic depression” as some people have been talking about in the social media,” the official told the Times of Oman on Wednesday.
According to the officials of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, the rains are likely to affect Musandam and the adjoining areas. “But these would be not heavy, as is being discussed in the social media,” the official said.
In its 24-hour outlook, it said the skies would be mainly clear over most of Oman with chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, South Al Sharqiya and Al Wusta. “Also, there are chances of cloud advection over the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea with chances of isolated rain,” it added.
