Oman weather: Wadis overflow as northern parts of the Sultanate receive rain

Muscat: Northern parts of the Sultanate were affected by unstable climatic conditions, resulting from a trough of low pressure from January 3 to the morning of January 4, leading to rainfall and overflow of wadis.
Precipitation Stations of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources reported the highest amount of rainfall in the Governorate of Muscat, with 55mm in the Wilayat of A’Seeb.
In the Governorate of Musandam, the Wilayat of Bukha recorded 26mm of rain, whereas in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, 20mm of rain was reported in the Wilayat of Barka.
In the Governorate of A'Dhahirah, 5mm of rain was recorded in the Wilayat of Yanqul while in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, 3mm was recorded in the Wilayat of Sohar. In the Governorate of Al Buraimi, 3mm of rain was reported in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi, whereas in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, 2mm of rain was recorded in the Wilayat of Bahla.
On Sunday, heavy rain fell in Barka, Buraimi, Sohar and Mussandam, according to residents and weather enthusiasts.
“It rained in Mussandam and surrounding areas in the morning. And in the afternoon, it rained in Buraimi and nearby areas. Later in the evening, it rained in Saham, Al Kabourah and Rustaq,” Bader Ali Al Baddaei administrator of www.rthmc.com, a local Web-based forum that discusses weather in Oman, told theTimes of Oman.
“Sohar residents are reporting moderate rains in different areas,” the administrator of www.rthmc.com, added.
