#OmanPride: Lots of what your children would love at Muscat Festival

Muscat: With 10 more days to go for the Muscat Festival 2017, make sure your children don’t miss the entertainment offerings at the festival venues.
This year’s festival has a host of offerings for children of all ages, right from the fun rides, fireworks and food stalls, to some fabulous theatre shows, library, cartoon mascots and edutainment zones – everything children can ask for.
Al Amerat and Naseem parks, the two prime locations for the festival this year, are bursting with some colourful activities for children. The Tropical Rainforest at Naseem Park, a semi-integrated tropical forest with all natural components and effects, including plant collections and waterways, has proved to be a wonderful attraction so far.
There’s also Paintball, a shooting game which involves firing coloured balloons at the opponent, a fun activity on at Naseem Park. The venue also features entertainment arts and a variety of games which kids can play.
The skills plaza, like most other performances, is open on all days of the festival. It includes a variety of performances such as a Flame Show, African Show, air-trampoline show and Kabakib show.
Amna Al Raisi, a parent of two children, said, “We really enjoy coming to the festival because my children like the fanfare here. They wear shoes that light up and like to dress up and buy candy floss and popcorn. They also love buying toys here. I think the festival is so much fun for children, even more than for us.My older child likes the stage performances and after buying his popcorn, he likes to go and sit there for some time, so we all sit with him.”
Children’s theatre at Naseem also has some fun shows for children besides stage performances that include interactive comic shows such as clown performances as well as artistic concerts of Omani singers. The fireworks at 8.30pm are an everyday spectacle to watch.
The amusement park at the Naseem Garden is offering children various attractions, such as roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, trampolines and giant slides, among others.
Al Amerat Park also has some fun electronic rides for children and adults. The fireworks display at the park takes place at 8pm
every day.
