Oman weather: Little chance of rain, temperatures to rise in Oman

Muscat: Temperatures are likely to rise in Oman over the next few days, weathermen say.
“There is very little chance of rain for the next three days. Therefore, we are expecting the temperatures to rise by one or two degrees in Oman,” a spokesman of the Oman Meteorology Department said.
He said Muscat recorded a maximum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius on Monday. “Over the next few days, the maximum temperature will go up to 25 degrees and the minimum to 18 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
The Director General of Meteorology at the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre said the Sultanate will witness mainly clear skies with chances of isolated rainfall in the Musandam governorate on Tuesday.
The sea will be moderate along the coasts of Musandam governorate with a maximum wave height of two metres, and weaker along the Sea of Oman with a maximum wave height of 1.25 metres.
Earlier this week, several areas in Oman witnessed snowfall as temperatures dipped drastically following winter rains.
Oman’s northern Musandam region was hit by hail and snow for two consecutive days. Snow also covered Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams of the Al Hajar Mountain range.
“It is still very cold in the mountains as the temperature is still hovering around one degree,” a resident of Jebel Shams said.
