Oman crime: Man held in Suwaiq over murder

Muscat: An Asian national has been arrested over a murder in Wilayat Suwaiq.

The Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations were able to arrest the suspect this morning.
A senior official at the ROP said, “The suspect, an Asian, assaulted the victim of the same nationality with a knife when they were in the victim’s home in Al Bida’a, Suwaiq.”

“The victim was transported to the nearest hospital by ambulance but unfortunately died on the way due to his wounds,” he added.

After conducting investigations and gathering evidence, officers found the suspect hiding in warehouse.

As officers were interrogating the suspect, he confessed that the crime was committed due to an argument between him and the victim while under the influence of alcohol.

The suspect was referred to the public prosecution to complete legal procedures.
