Muscat: Omani scientists' role in all fields of science and knowledge was stressed on the occasion of Manuscript Day celebrated on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Heritage and Culture on Tuesday marked the Manuscript Day under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Fatik bin Fahr Al Said, Secretary General of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
The theme of Manuscript Day this year is "Heritage in Time of Risk".
Hamoud bin Abdullah Al-Rashdi, Director of Manuscripts Department, delivered the opening speech during which he dealt with the definition of the world of manuscripts and the role of Omani scientists in all fields of science and knowledge with a brief overview of the efforts of the department to publish the important manuscripts through reprinting them in beautiful shapes.
At the end of the ceremony, Sayyid Fatik bin Fahr Al Said, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, toured the Manuscripts Exhibition to view the origins of the manuscripts and a display on restoration process. He also reviewed the Ministry's publications.
