The Research Council announces contestant for Berlin finals

Muscat: In cooperation with the German Falling Walls non-profit organisation, The Research Council announced the most impressive contestant for the falling walls lab contest.
The student Salim bin Abdullah Al Kaabi and his project entitled "Omani Frankincense and its Role in the Manufacturing of Dyes " qualified for the finals in Berlin with the support of Oman Air.
The student Khadija Al Lawatiya won the second place for her project entitled " Use of the Protective Jacket against Surrounding Heat ".
The student Basma Al Kayumiyah won the third place for her project about removing organic compounds from the water.
The Falling Wall Lab contest is organised throughout the world to encourage university students, master researchers, young researchers and business leaders under the age of 35 to present their ideas, initiatives and research projects in all fields and disciplines.
The most impressive contestant qualifies directly to the finals of the competition in Berlin as part of a grant from the German Centre to allow young innovators to present their research projects or ideas in no more than three minutes to a high-level jury of academic and research and entrepreneurship to be among the 100 winners from all over the world.
