Muscat: Three new universities from the USA, Malaysia and Austria have been added to the Ministry's list of recommended universities, officials announced.
The Committee for the Recognition of Non-Omani Higher Education Institutions and Equivalency of Educational Qualifications concluded their second meeting for this year.
The committee decided to include a number of higher education institutions to their list of institutions recommended for study by the Ministry of Higher Education.
The committee decided to add Southern Utah University, and the University of Maine in the United States, provided that students are enrolled full time and at the institutions' main campuses.
The committee also approved the inclusion of Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in the list, as well as SEGI College Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia. This is also provided that the study shall full time, at the main campus of the educational institution. For SEGI College Kuala Lumpur, the program of study must be accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Authority (MQA).
The Committee also issued decisions to not attest four cases of Master's degrees, because they were not preceded by an approved and attested Bachelor's degree, and do not meet the criteria of experience mentioned in Item 4, of Article 10 of Regulations for the law of Scholarships, Grants, and Financial Aid.
