Muscat: Students of Indian schools in Oman have made their institutions proud with a stellar performance in the CBSE Class X examination, the results of which were announced on Saturday.
Indian School Darsait had its best results in the CBSE Class X examination held in March 2017. Its Grade X students broke all previous records with 77 students out of 193 scoring a perfect CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 10, while 134 students obtained CGPA 9 and above, resulting in 69.9 per cent of the students.
At least 126 of 193 students scored A1 in English, 99/193 students scored A1 in science, 97/191 students received A1 in social science, 94/190 students achieved A1 in mathematics, 86/130 students scored A1 in Malayalam, 21/39 students secured A1 in Hindi, 7/8 students had A1 in Sanskrit and 5/15 students secured A1 in Arabic.
Principal Dr. Sridevi P. Thashnath congratulated the students on their achievement and praised the students, teachers and parents for their efforts. Ajayan Poyyara, president, and other members of the school management committee, conveyed their happiness over the excellent result that the school had achieved.
All 352 students of ISWK achieved 100 per cent results; it is a remarkable achievement, considering that all students had opted for board-based exams, making ISWK the only school in the capital region to have done so.
Among the toppers, 73 students achieved a perfect CGPA of 10, being placed in A1 grades in all five subjects. More than 164 of the total students who appeared in the examination scored above 90 per cent aggregate.
The subject-wise performance of ISWK is as follows: Out of 352 students, 135 scored A1s in English, 120 in science, 101 in mathematics, and 107 in social science; 65 out of 257 received A1s in Hindi and 49 out of 93 secured A1s in Malayalam.
The school management, Principal D.N. Rao, Vice Principal of the Senior Wing Jayaprakash Pillai, and the staff congratulated the students on their dedication and hard work.
Indian School Jalan students also achieved 100 per cent success. Sruthi Sanilkumar secured a CGPA of 10. Of the 12 students, eight students, namely, Afiya Muthiyeri, Kriti Aman, Aleena Benny, Rinkle Rose Renny, Syed Saqlain Iqbal, Mohamad Farzeen and Zahran scored A1.
Rizwan Malik, president, and other members of the school management committee, and Anamika Sharma, the principal of Indian School Jalan, congratulated the students on their achievement and thanked the parents for their unstinting support and extolled the teachers for their dedication.
The second batch of Class X students of Indian School Al Maabela also displayed an impressive performance.
Of the 40 students who appeared for the class X examination, six scored A1 in all subjects. Arnila Kumari, Anam Choulkar, Nevin Sanush, Bivina, Y. Manideepika and Maariya Raza topped the class with a perfect 10 CGPA. At least 18 students (45 per cent) scored a CGPA of 9 and above. Some 80 per cent of the students scored above 70 per cent marks.
SMC President Kurien E. Chandrathil, Principal P. Prabakaran, Vice Principal Dr. Gladis Diana Sivakumar and Assistant Vice Principal Mohanan P congratulated the toppers for their brilliant performance and praised the hard work and dedication of the students and teachers.
