Muscat: With the blessing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Muscat e-Quran will be inaugurated next Monday, under the patronage of Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al- Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture.
This came in a press conference held by Dr. Salim bin Hilal Al Kharousi, Adviser of Preaching and Guidance at the Office of the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs at the ministry's headquarters to reveal the details of the inauguration of the Muscat e-Quran.
Al Kharousi said that the "Muscat e-Quran" is a unique precedent in terms of its electronic printing. It is the second non-manuscript printed manuscript and the first electronically.
It is also written according to the agreed-upon Uthmanic calligraphy. It aims to highlight the Arabic language and its calligraphy and the aesthetics of Uthmanic calligraphy. It opens new horizons to researchers and scholars to benefit from the texts of the Holy Quran and the formation of new copies according to the Uthmanic calligraphy, made available in Muscat e-Quran, in addition to teaching our children how to write the Quran with Uthmanic calligraphy and the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and its applications.
He added that the Quran contains methods of searching for Suwar, parts and verses in a new approach that shortens the time and effort of students, scholars, researchers and interested persons, noting that the authorization of any new Quran must pass through the review committee of the Quran in Al Azhar.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has the intellectual property rights of the Muscat e-Quran. The protection against e-piracy is provided by Dicot Ape company which implements the project, and until the Ministry's employees are trained on operation and management.
