Muscat: A coordination meeting was held yesterday at the Office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar under the chair of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar to familiarise with the preparations of the relevant authorities in the Governorate of Dhofar to receive tourists during the Khareef season.
The meeting reviewed the preparations of all relevant authorities to provide the needed services to visitors during the tourism season, especially during the Eid Al Fitr and Salalah Tourism Festival.
The meeting reviewed measures taken to ensure smooth traffic and maintain safety of citizens, residents and visitors. It also discussed enhancing the municipal services and following up the readiness of the roads leading to the governorate through the wilayat of Thumrait, as well as the coastal road through the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands.
The meeting also discussed the health services, the availability of health cadres, as well as the health centers and points. It also discussed the readiness of the emergency and heart centres, as well as mobile medical services on Adam/Thumrait road.
The meeting reviewed the accommodation facilities and the availability of catering supplies, fuel and banking services at the wilayats of the governorates. They also reviewed increasing the number of flights by Oman Air and Al Salam Air.
The meeting was attended by Advisor Abdullah bin Aqeel Al Ibrahim, Acting Deputy Governor of Dhofar, Sheikh Salim bin Ufait Al Shanfari, Head of Dhofar Municipality, a number of advisors at the Office, the Col. Assistant Commander of the Governorate of Dhofar Police, as well as a number of public and private officials.
