Muscat: Parents must monitor their children when they are playing next to or in water during the Eid holidays, according to Royal Oman Police.
"These trips are often accompanied by accidents, most of which are caused due to the strong sea currents, high waves, and lack of knowledge of swimming skills. Parents should not leave their children at sea without care and supervision," the official said.
The ROP are asking parents and guardians to prevent children from swimming in ponds of stagnant water because they do not know its depth.
It is also very difficult to see individuals in the event of drowning. Parents must know the depths of the places to swim and not swim after sunset, according to the ROP.
