Muscat: Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science will organise introductory meeting on the sixth version of Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and Literature.
Dr. Aishah bint Said Al Ghabshiyah, Director of the Award Office and Badr bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maskari, Director of the Office of the Secretary General of the Centre will initiate a tour that includes holding the introductory meetings in the Lebanese Republic and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Dr. Al Ghabshiyah, said that while the Sultanate’s Embassy in Beirut will host on Wednesday the first meeting, the second meeting will be held after Thursday at the Arabian Cultural Club in Beirut to explain the three categories of the award namely the economic study, the architectural design and literary criticism.
She added that two meetings will be held at the Higher Culture Council in Cairo on July 9 and at Ain Shams University on July 11 to explain the aims and criteria of the Award.
The first meeting will be attended by Dr. Yousef Al Qaeed, member of the Award Trustee Board.
The Award Office will have direct meetings in both countries to explain the new criteria at each version, as well as the permanent criteria for the Award.
