Jazz Garden Series coming to Muscat

Muscat: Alive Entertainment will bring cool jazz, deep-down blues and an eclectic mix of musicians to Muscat on October 19. Playing in the beachfront courtyard of the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, the Jazz Garden Series will get you into the groove, bring you to your feet and have you tapping your feet.
An established and successful spin-off to the Dubai Jazz Festival, the Jazz Garden Series is a new concept brought to Oman by Alive Entertainment. In the past, Alive has brought the likes of Ed Sheeran, Tom Jones and Russell Peters but this is a move into a new concept.
Gordon Mackenzie, MD of Alive Entertainment decided it was time for something new, “We have a lot of interaction with people in Muscat and there has been a lot of interest in having a different style of event. When it is on in Dubai, the Jazz Garden Series by ChilloutProductions attracts up to 3,000 people as they relax in a beautiful setting listening to world-class performers playing a range of jazz, blues, soul and rock; often a combination of several styles.”
The first of the series starts with a solo set from the popular Ryan Keen, an artist often compared to Ed Sheeran for his unique style. Following him is Catie Waters, an award-winning indie singer/songwriter who has been described as a unique blend of jazz and soul, with rich undertones of R&B and funk grooves.
The evening is headlined by Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge, a band that plays a blend of R’n’B and funk with a wild stage-show headed up by the charismatic band-leader, Albie Donnelly himself. Having toured with legends such as BB King, Ray Charles and Chuck Berry he and his band put on a supercharged show.
Held in the Turtle Beach of the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, the outdoor setting will lend to a unique evening out for fans of live music played by professional musicians. There will be a range of food and beverage options for guests to help enjoy their experience.
Tickets for the concert are OMR15 per person and can be bought online through aliveentertainment.net or from Mackenzies Café located in the PDO golf course clubhouse.
