Muscat: Hamriya XI defeated RST Legend via tie-breaker to lift the title at the Gulf Exchange Gold Cup Football Tournament organised by Bangladesh Social Club (BSC), recently.
In the final, played at the Muscat Club in Al Wadi Al Kabir, the teams failed to open their account regulation time. In the tie-breaker, however, Hamriya XI prevailed over RST Legend for a 5-4 victory.
The final was graced by Mohammad Yousuf Al Wahaibi, Director of Women's Association, Ministry of Social Development, Sheikh Abdullah Zaher Al Hosni, former ambassador of Oman to Russia and China, and Oman Football Association official Abdullah Mohammed Al Hilali.
A total of 12 teams took part in the two-month long tournament.
The tournament was sponsored by Gulf Exchange, Oman International Exchange, Muscat Pharmacy, businessman Mohammed Abul Kalam, Mohammed Saha Alam, Hazi Mafiz, Mohammed Didar and Nasser Stores and Al Baraka Hyper Market.
BSC President Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, General Secretary Sirajul Hoque and Sports Secretary Abul Bashar Sarkar handed over the trophy and the medals.
