Oman Energy and Water Conference set to kick off

Muscat: The 4th edition of Oman Energy & Water Exhibition & Conference 2018 will begin at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on April 30th under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Taimour bin Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said.
The three-day event, themed “Intelligent Management of Energy and Water Systems”, will be organised by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (Diam) in conjunction with Oman Expo.
Details of the event were unveiled by Dr. Ali bin Hamad Al Ghafri, Diam Deputy Chairman for International Relations and Conferences, Head of the Organising Committee, on Sunday.
He said that the conference seeks to highlight the most important investment opportunities for the governmental and private institutions working in the electricity and water sectors in the Sultanate. The event will discuss a number of topics on energy and water strategies and programmes and plans to strengthen the infrastructure of the sectors of electricity, water and wastewater treatment.
He added that the conference will discuss the future of energy in the Sultanate and strategies of its efficiency of production and uses among other things, as well as the available investment opportunities, especially in the areas of renewable energy and sustainable water management in the Sultanate.
Al-Ghafri explained that the conference will highlight the latest developments in policies and strategies related to the restructuring of relevant sectors and the Sultanate’s plans to benefit from renewable energy sources, as well as benefiting from waste in the production of energy, water networks, pipelines and means to rationalise energy and water consumption in the Sultanate.
He affirmed that the conference and its accompanying exhibition are an opportunity for those interested in these sectors to exchange international expertise, studies and innovations in these areas in order to strengthen efforts to consolidate the position of these sectors in the Sultanate and highlighting the achievements made in each of them.
A number of dialogue sessions will be held on the sidelines of the event with participation of over 50 speakers from inside and outside the Sultanate. The event will also include workshops related to the areas of energy, water and wastewater treatment with participation of more than 400 participants.
The accompanying exhibition will include the most important technologies and innovations in the field of energy and water as it will be attended by more than 150 local and international companies from the Sultanate, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Iran, India and South Korea.
