Expat woman dies after falling on mountain in Salalah

Muscat: An expat woman has died after falling from a mountain and two Omani citizens who were stranded at a waterfall in Dhofar have been rescued, authorities announced on Saturday.
Authorities added that the woman, a domestic worker was of “Asian nationality”.
In a statement online, PACDA said, “The ambulance team at the public authority responded to a report of the fall of a female worker of an Asian nationality on a mountain in the area of Al Mughsayl in the Wilayat of Salalah, resulting in her death.”
Meanwhile, the water rescue team at the department of civil defence and ambulance in Dhofar managed to rescue citizens who were stuck as they climbed up to the Darbat waterfalls in wilayat of Taqah, and were unable to come down. The authority added that the citizens have been rescued and are in “good health”.
PACDA asked visitors not to climb such places and to endanger themselves.
Rescue authorities called upon visitors to adhere to awareness guidelines and to not approach dangerous slopes.
