Pakistan ambassador to Oman signs Global Compact Document

Muscat: The World Health Organisation (WHO) hosted a Ministerial Meeting on the ‘Road to Universal Health Coverage in the Eastern Mediterranean Region’ in Salalah.
Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan, represented his country at the event and signed the ‘Global Compact Document’ on behalf of the government of Pakistan.
Dr. Sania Nishtar, a renowned Pakistani regarded as a global health expert, appeared as the keynote speaker at the plenary session on September 3. She delivered a lecture focusing on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
The session was graced with the presence of His Highness Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tareq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; Princess Dina Mired, President of the Union for International Cancer Control from Jordan; and Her Highness Dr. Mona Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Sultan Qaboos University; as well as Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Obaid Al Saidi, Minister of Health of the Sultanate.
Speaking to Oman TV, the ambassador expressed satisfaction at the proceedings and reiterated support for the efforts of the WHO, Oman and all partner countries from the region.
