27 illegal migrants arrested in Oman

Muscat: The Coast Guard has managed to thwart a series of smuggling attempts in Oman.

The North Al Batinah Coast Guard seized "two smuggling boats filled with infiltrators near the wilayat of Suwaiq, aboard which were 27 infiltrators of Asian nationality."

Elsewhere, the Musandam Coast Guard, in collaboration with the Omani Royal Navy, "seized a fishing boat and a diesel smuggling boat near Musandam Island. The persons were handed over to the Customs Department in Musandam for legal proceedings to be completed."
