Around 20 CSKA Moscow fans were injured after they were flung down an escalator when it broke in the Italian capital, Rome.
Seven people were seriously hurt in the accident but none were reported to sustain life-threatening injuries.
Russian fans were headed towards Rome's Olympic Stadium on Tuesday where CSKA Moscow was to play AS Roma in the Champions League.
The video of the incident showed that the escalator suddenly speeds up, leaving people in a tangled crush at the bottom, unable to jump free.
