Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,114.80 points, down by 0.24 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index closed at 560.37 points, down by 0.02 per cent. Bank Sohar was the most active in terms of volume while Ahli Bank was the most active in terms of turnover. Gulf Investment Services Holding, up 1.82 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Dhofar Cattle Feed, which lost 10 per cent.
A total number of 216 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR610,000 with more than 6.03 million shares changing hands. Out of 27 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 11 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR15,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR3,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR18,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.24 per cent at 6,586.51 points. Gulf Invest Services Holding and Ominvest were up by 1.82 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Ahli Bank, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Muscat Finance and Bank Sohar were down by 2.14 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.13 per cent at 4,761.57 points. There were no gainers. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down 10 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.44 per cent at 2,115.21 points. There were no gainers. Sembcorp Salalah, Muscat City Desalination and National Gas were down 4.17 per cent, 3.2 per cent and 1.96 per cent respectively.
