​One person arrested for breaking into a house, taking kids hostage

Muscat: An Omani national has been arrested for breaking into a house and taking hostage three children at knife-point in Buraimi, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
According to officials, the accused was under the influence of drugs and has an existing criminal record.
In an online statement, the ROP said, “Buraimi Police Station managed to arrest a person for breaking into an Asian expatriate’s residence and taking hostage three children at knife -point inside a room.”
It added, “It turned out that the accused was under the influence of drugs and has a criminal record.” Legal actions have been taken against the accused.
