Pakistan poet’s work praised

Muscat: Literati and Urdu poetry lovers in Muscat recently gathered at the poetic symposium organised by the Pakistan Social Club Oman (PSCO) to honour one of their senior poets.
Zakir Hussain Zakir, one of the prominent Pakistan poets in Muscat, has taken all Urdu poetry lovers by surprise with his exquisite style that ranges from serious to humorous. The poet is highly praised for his collection entitled “Tilism Wafa”.
A large audience came to listen to and honour his work in Urdu literature.
The event began with recitation from the Holy Quran and continued with local poets reading their work.
The highly praised participants included Mohammed Hussain, Abid Mughal, Shakeel Shahab, Imran Assad, Mian Muhammad Rauf Jamal, Musa Kashmiri, Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh and Nasir Maroof, Director of Pakistan Social Club Oman.
At the end of the event, Zakir took to the stage and treated the audience to a recitation of some of his poetry that was welcomed and enjoyed by the attendees. He was awarded with a shield, acknowledging his services to the community.
