Muscat: Pakistani expats living in the Sultanate need not travel back home to settle issues as the Pakistani government has launched a new complaint centre that is available on mobile phones.
The ‘CallSarzameen’ complaint centre was launched earlier by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. The service has been introduced on mobile phones now.
The complaint centre has been designed to listen to and address issues of Pakistanis living across the world. Pakistani expats can now share their problems through the mobile application including issues related to family disputes, legal and financial disputes, visa and immigration issues, criminal cases, National Database and Registration Authority issues, and employment issues.
Welcoming the initiative, senior members of Pakistan community based in Oman voiced their opinions saying that they are hopeful that the given platform will serve the purpose of addressing issues of overseas Pakistanis.
“I think this is a very good initiative. Pakistanis living in the Sultanate and across the world have no access with the department to address their issues and find difficulties to find the right person to resolve it. This will definitely facilitate people to have contact with the concerned department through the electronic media.
“However, the result of this initiative now depends on how the government responds to the complaints or how efficient they are. In the previous government, I happened to file a complaint that to date is not resolved. But, I am positive and hopeful that the current ruling party in Pakistan will not disappoint overseas Pakistanis like me as they are more result orientated than the previous one,” said A.H. Raja, former chairman of Pakistan Social Club Oman (PSCO).
Arshad Khan, legal and management consultant and former chief election commissioner of PSCO said that the initiative taken by the government is great but it is not the announcement but the compliance which is important.
“Principally it is not the announcement which is important it is the compliance and implementation which is important, as far as I am concerned. In my opinion the compliance and implementation in truly lantern spirit of any announcement is very important, and I hope it is done in the true spirit and only then it will be useful for the people of Pakistan and community residing abroad.”
Sayed Z. Bukhari, Special Assistant to Pakistan PM on overseas Pakistanis, took to his official twitter account and asked all overseas Pakistanis to download and get connected through the app.
“Solution to every problem starts with understanding it, CallSarzameen is a one-window solution tailored to listen & address issues faced by overseas Pakistanis across the world and route all problems to respective authorities. I urge all OPs to download and get connected to us via this app,” Bukhari said.
The app is available for download on Google Play Store (for all Android handsets), and all complaints will be routed to Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s Citizen Portal.
To file a complaint, a user needs to sign-up after downloading the app and then create a new account. He/she will then be asked to add details like name, email, computerised national identity card, etc. After adding all the required details, the user would be asked to add credentials, and will be asked to tap sign up. To file a complaint, the user needs to tap on ‘New Complaint’, choose the department and add details. Users could also attach documents along with their complaints (optional). After filing the required information, submit complaint, and to check status, swipe left on your mobile phone screen.
The mobile application has been developed by National Information Technology Board of Pakistan.
According to the statement by Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, “The Call Sarzameen centre works round the clock for overseas Pakistanis across the world. Their complaints are heard immediately, tracked and resolved.”
Officials also added that all complaints are monitored 24x7 by the ministry itself.
