20 women arrested by police

Muscat: Twenty women have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for "Immoral Acts".

According to authorities, the women were arrested in Muscat as the result of a joint inspection which took place at dawn on Saturday.

An online statement by the ROP said, "The Muscat Police Command, in cooperation with the special task force, arrested 20 women accused of performing immoral acts at dawn today."

The authorities added that legal action has been taken against them.
