Water rescue teams in place at Salalah

Muscat: With an increase in the number of visitors at Salalah for the Khareef season, more officials have been deployed to ensure the security of visitors.

The Public Authority of Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA), in a statement said, "To ensure the safety of visitors to Salalah during Khareef, the water rescue team is present at Wadi Darbat at Dhofar governorate. The team will secure and sensitise visitors while making sure safety requirements are followed."

Safety boards put up at various sites list out some rules to be followed by those entering the water. These include the following:

Wear a life jacket before entering the boat.

Please be careful when entering and leaving the boat.

Please sit inside the boat and do not stand during the trip.

Never put your hand in the water.

No entry into the boat in absence of the operator.

Please follow the operator's instructions during the ride.

Please exit the boat only in the designated area.
