Pink lakes of Oman, a sight to behold

Muscat: The Pink Lake in Al Ashkharah, South Al Sharqiyah, is one of the most beautiful places in the Sultanate and it is one of a group of colorful lakes scattered in the Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates' coasts called the pink lakes.

The pink red color is due to the presence of certain type of algae and bacteria.
