Rains, fog forecast over several parts of Oman

Muscat: The aerial photograph shows the continuous flow of clouds over the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and parts of Al Dakhiliyah, with low clouds and fog spreading over parts of the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, North, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar, Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said on Monday.

A statement issued online by PACA said, “Partly cloudy skies Over Musandam, Muscat North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi Governorates and Al Hajar mountains with chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers over Musandam Governorate.”

On Sunday evening and Monday morning, Musandam governorate witnessed rains and in the past 24 hours, monitoring stations of PACA recorded 5.0 mm of rainfall at Khasab and 3.8 mm at Bukha. There is a chance of rains in Musandam governorate and coastal areas along the Sea of Oman as well as Al Hajar mountains in the coming hours according to PACA.

“Mainly clear skies over rest of the Sultanate's governorates with chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patch formation along the coastal areas of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar," the forecast by PACA added.
