Coronavirus: Over 5,000 food baskets distributed in Muscat

Muscat: More than 5000 food baskets have been distributed in the wilayat of Seeb for those people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "A community initiative (Seeb is Ready), which operates under supervision of His Excellency the Governor of Seeb and the Social Development Committee, has distributed 5,610 food baskets during more than three weeks to people who have stopped their works due to the spread of the Coronavirus in wilayat of Seeb."

Hilal bin Hamad Al Sarmi, representative of Wilayat of Seeb in Shura Council said, "Seeb is Ready initiative has benefited 73,000 citizens and residents across the Wilayat of Seeb with a total amount of OMR 35,000. The initiative also distributes around 1,600 iftar meals a day for residents whose works have been stopped due to coronavirus pandemic."
