Eight expats arrested for smuggling diesel

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested eight expats on charges of smuggling diesel.

A statement issued online by the ROP said: "In cooperation with the Special Task Force unit, Musandam Coast Guard police boats seized a diesel smuggling boat near Khasab, carrying eight people of Asian nationality."

Meanwhile the Dibba coast guard police has also provided assistance to a fishing boat that had an engine breakdown at sea with three citizens on board. The boat was towed to the port of Dibba.
