The MSM30 index closed at 3,538.32 points, up 0.59 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.32 per cent at 519.04 points. Oman United Insurance, up 8.33 per cent was the top gainer while Al Batinah Power, down 3.57 per cent was the top loser. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Oman United Insurance was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 501 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.55 million, with more than 12.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 21 advanced, 3 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR317,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR191,000 followed by local GCC & Arab for OMR180,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,571.54 points, up 0.76 per cent. Oman United Insurance, Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment, Al Omaniya Financial and Al Madina Takaful were up by 7.69 per cent, 5.88 per cent, 3.39 per cent 2.86 per cent and 1.49 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,105.21 points, up 0.34 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic, Gulf International and Raysut Cement were up by 3.01 per cent, 1.96 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.47 per cent before closing at 1,609.69 points. Phoenix Power, OIFC, National Gas, Ooredoo and Sembcorp Salalah were up by 3.77 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.95 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power and Majan College were down by 3.57 per cent, 0.3.51 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. -
