The MSM30 index closed at 3,520.66 points, up 0.066 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.02 per cent at 518.99 points. United Power, up 9.9 per cent was the top gainer while Oman National Engineering & Investment Co., down 4.63 per cent was the top loser. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 402 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.85 million, with more than 6.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 4 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR122,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR94,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR28,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,578.02 points, down 0.08 per cent. Al Omaniya Financial was up by 2.53 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 4,030.98 points, up 0.26 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel, Galfar Engineering, Raysut Cement and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 3.16 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.92 per cent and 0.74 per cent. Oman Fisheries was down by 2.11 per cent.
Services index was down 0.01 per cent before closing at 1,585.61 points. United Power, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Phoenix Power and OIFC were up by 9.9 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively. Oman National Engineer, Sembcorp Salalah and National Gas were down by 4.63 per cent, 2.83 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively.
