Muscat: Seeb has now reported 1,000 more COVID-19 cases than Muttrah since the pandemic first broke out in Oman.
According to data from the Ministry of Health’s Tarassud app, which provides updates on the coronavirus situation in Oman and the rest of the world, a total of 7,601 cases have been so far reported in Seeb, compared to 6,509 cases in Muttrah.
The 390 fresh cases that came to light in Wilayat Seeb on Monday, 22 June, pushed the difference in reported cases between itself and Wilayat Muttrah to 1,092. Muttrah recorded just 135 more cases on the 22nd.
Wilayat Baushar also recorded a significant spike in cases with 359 new infections reported, taking the total number of reports of infection there to 6,105.
Six more people, unfortunately, lost their lives to the disease, on the 22nd. All of the deaths took place in the Governorate of Muscat: three of them occurred in Seeb, two in Muttrah, and one in Baushar.
