Sur: A photography exhibition at the Sur College of Applied Sciences was inaugurated recently by the Dean, Dr. Ahmed Juma Al Riyami, and was attended by staff and students of the college.
Fifty students of the first year of Communication Studies showcased their learning in digital media and photography techniques in an exhibition titled ‘Experiments with the Lens.’ In addition to 80 frames at the exhibition showing the student’s experiments with the camera, an interactive photography studio and digital production studio had visitors trying their hand at taking pictures or making their own videos, using hi-technology specialised equipment.
Appreciating the effort of the students, Dr Riyami said, “This exhibition is special as it shows application of the knowledge that the students have gained, even at the very beginning of their study. Their talent in photography and their skills in digital media are evident in the photographs they
have displayed.”
Saba Al Naqvi, lecturer, said, “This exhibition is held to display the work that students have done as part of their course in Media Studies. They have put tremendous effort into making this happen, and marks apart, it is the appreciation they are getting from the visitors that makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
